The Lookout Café is one of the most spectacularly situated restaurants in the world. Perched on the very edge of the Batoka Gorge, directly opposite the Victoria Falls Bridge, this open-air venue offers jaw-dropping views, excellent food, and the adrenaline buzz of watching bridge activities — bungee jumpers, zip-liners, and bridge swingers — from the comfort of your table.
The Views
Let's be honest: you come to The Lookout for the views, and they do not disappoint. The restaurant sits on a cantilevered deck extending over the gorge. Look down 120 metres to the Zambezi River churning through the rapids below. Look across to the Victoria Falls Bridge — an engineering marvel completed in 1905. Look left for spray from the Falls rising above the gorge. It's vertigo-inducing and utterly magnificent.
The Food
The menu goes well beyond what you'd expect from a "view restaurant":
