Somalisa Camp is widely regarded as the premier safari camp in Hwange National Park — a luxurious tented camp set in a private concession surrounded by some of the park's finest wildlife habitat. The camp's position near a network of waterholes ensures exceptional game viewing, particularly during the dry season when elephants gather in their hundreds.

The Camp

Seven spacious canvas tents are raised on wooden decks beneath a canopy of acacia trees, each furnished with king-size beds, indoor and outdoor showers, and private verandahs overlooking the bush. The main area features a sunken lounge, dining area, and an infinity plunge pool — one of the most photographed in Southern African safari lodges.

The Safari Experience

• Morning and afternoon game drives — in open 4x4 vehicles with expert guides
• Walking safaris — guided walks through the bush, learning tracking skills and ecological relationships
• Waterhole sessions — sunken hides at nearby waterholes provide eye-level encounters with drinking elephants
